My sisters, one nephew (that is attached to my sis) and mom came for a visit in Oct and it was the highlight of my month. Sorry Halloween, you just can't compete with my girl time. Mostly because I got an overnight get away without kids, which was heaven sent.
We went to the beach, they helped me sew the kids halloween costumes, lots of grandma playing time, and my sisters, nephew, mom and I went to Orlando for a day at Universal Studios and overnight stay at a beautiful hotel. (we felt a little out of place carrying in our take out pizza, hauling in our luggage, pack and play and all, and looking rather pathetic and worn out from our day, into this nice 4 star hotel) We decided not to pay for valet parking and came in from the back with self parking, (which ended up being only $6 cheaper than valet!!) We felt a little like "the help" coming in the back. We had a good laugh at ourselves.
I have decided that unless money is no object I shouldn't stay in places like that, because we were just complaining the whole time about the things we had to pay for, that in our mind should've been included in the room price. And also we just felt completely out of place, a couple of moms amongst the rich corporate world of women. Wow they looked put together, but deep down I know they couldn't be as happy as I am at home with my kids.
This is our hotel, pool side lounge area. It really was relaxing.
I am the oldest girl, then Kellie 5 yrs younger then me, in the dress, and Kylie 13 yrs younger, on the right. We have had our ups and downs of getting along throughout our lives, but the time they spent here was so much fun.
Kellie and her littlest bambino Joseph.
He is such an easy going little guy,
he can come to our girls weekend anytime.
Steve helped the kids make this awesome sand castle
with all the weird shells laying around.
Me and my littlest bambina Kate, getting so big so fast.
I will definitely miss this beach especially at sunset. AHHH I love it.
So trusting!!
This was our fun day at Universal Studios. I don't have a great camera and don't have a good eye for photography so sorry, we just try to capture who and what.
Hogwart's express...
Seuss Landing.....my kids love that book
"And to think that I saw it on Mulberry St"
So I had to have a pic with mulberry street running into bliss street
Jurassic Park
The dinosaur in the background is a bit hard to see, but it's there...
I know we're corny, don't worry it got worse as the weekend went on.
I had to ride the hulk for steve. He was such a good sport about
letting me leave and have a fun time without the family.
I hope to let him do the same in the near future.
(btw: graduation is only 13 weeks away) :) :)
Harry Potter World was really so amazing.
Butterbeer was delicious and the lines weren't too long.
That's all I needed to have a good time.
And here we are letting our true colors show. I said I would give Kellie $50 if she would fly home with her hair like that. She said ok, but mom and Ky said they would disown here if she did and she really needed the help on the flight home with Joseph. So she declined, but still it was hilarious.
What would you do if you saw someone seriously wearing their hair like that???
I couldn't stop laughing. So we all joined in the silliness.
Please don't judge me! I still can't look at these pics without laughing, and I can't believe I am showing the world these either, but oh well....ENJOY a good laugh.
So fun!!!! You must have had an amazing time with your family - I'm so happy you got some rockin girl time!!!
